Introduce the Week (3 min)

This week we are exploring stories behind photographs. People may view photographs differently depending on their experiences, it is important to look at the story behind photographs for this reason.

Your phone or one way that telecommunications have helped you. Our phones are some of the most important things of our lives.


Tomorrow's Show & Share: Find a museum some where around the world or in the U.S. that you would want to visit. Tomorrow is International Museum Day


Plan Your Week (5 min)

PRESENTERS: Each week will start with reviewing portfolio planners to update tasks, appointment or other things that should be marked in their portfolio planner.

Each photograph tells a story. This week we want to review how photographs are often used as narratives:

  • What do you guess the photograph is about just by looking at the picture?
  • What in this photograph makes you think that is what the picture is about?
  •  What is the photograph actually about? 
  • Are you right or wrong about the photograph?

One-Photograph May 19 Narrative Worksheet

Presenters: Complete the Narrative Worksheet as a team with participants. 

Photographs can share something unique that moment in time. Today we are going to use the space around us to create a quick story. First, we ned to decide what theme or type of story we want to tell.


Spend 5 minutes brainstorming on types of stories your photograph could tell. Some examples of themes for your story:

  • Adventure
  • Action
  • Fantasy
  • Horror
  • Comedy

Using your room, capture one picture of something around you using your mobile device. If this is difficult use these rooms to tell your story:
