Skills Media
This video is about the California State Council on Developmental Disabilities. When you want to adapt you need information that you understand so you can use it. There are many sources of information and there are agencies that exist to help you get in a way you understand and can act on.
Skills Information
PRESENTERS: Go to the State Council web page here and explain that there is a sate-wide self-advocacy network that has regular meetings that you can look up and learn from.
Click on the SPEAKER icon next to the Packet and when the page loads, click "Listen" in the bar above to the left. Explain to your group that this a way that they can hear the written materials read aloud.
Skills Applied
Go the SARC home page and explore these links
PRESEnTERS: I have purposely NOT put the links in to this page so that you can SHOW the participants the process of clicking on links from the SARC web site. The point of this exploration is to encourage people to access the page for themselves.
Notice that there is no directory of SARC workers. Why is that? Can the clients get together and ask for that? If they are providing service coordination shouldn't their contact information be available?
