PCT & Safety 38

Person-Centered Thinking & Safety

Check out the national day!

Check In (5 min)

What did you do this weekend? What are you looking forward to this week?

Introduce the Week (3 min)

This week we are going to examine events and how they progress. Events have a beginning, a middle, and an end (and sometimes even more steps in the middle). We will use graphic organizers and draw, doodle, write, sticker, and describe how we see progressions over time.

Show & Share (10-min)

Me as a Kid

What does the map of your life look like?

Share a photo of you as a kid so we can compare how you have mapped your life this far.

Tomorrow's Show & Share: Tomorrow you are going to share a knock knock Joke. Share your favorite knock knock joke so we can review how jokes are sequenced in specific orders.

My Map (10-15 min)

PRESENTERS: The map activity is an example of planning for the future. The activity is located inside of the portfolio planner and can be filled out as a team. Feel free to discuss how you goal planned in the past or any ideas you have.

Creating a plan and goals helps us have an idea of what we want to accomplish in the future.

Using a plain sheet of paper, draw a timeline with a beginning, middle, and today. You can write, draw, doodle, sticker or describe points in time in your life that you consider important to becoming the person you are today. You can add the sheet to your portfolio to come back to during the week.

Start by describing yourself as a kid. What did you like to do? Can you think of any memories that had a lasting impact on you?

What is one big thing that happened in your life that had a distinct impact. Describe 1 key life event (finding a friend, losing a friend, moving out on my own, learning something new). Remember, these things can be happy or sad, there is no right or wrong answer and everyone has an individual experience.

Lastly, describe where you are now on your own life map. How did things in your life path get you to be the person you are today?

High Priority Vocabulary: Pg. 75 Directon Words (5-10 min)

Brainstorm MORE Direction Words using the work sheet in this week's printable as a team. We've used direction words before so it's time to show our knowledge in a new  way.

Need some inspiration? Use these images of people doing things to think of directions someone could give them.
