“Differabilities”
By Kristofer Gabriel Peterson
Whether you or I is weak or so strong
Or smart or dumb within your own body
Differabilities are never wrong
So come on people and live life groovy
It don't matter whether you're light or dark
Or tall or small thanks to your genes within
You can have medical's painful scar mark
Differabilities shall make life grin
One can be a genius of normalcy
Or a handicapable character
All have differabilities of glee
So humanity, have patience so pure
The new cool slogan is weird and insane
And proper etiquette is still lovely
Yet to still someone somewhere, change is pain
So let differabilities be free
Life is too short to be so judgmental
So let all differabilities soar
For all souls should live thinking so mental
Or physically challenging their core
Gone is the weak word of disabilities from this poetic tongue
For all have differabilities in my eyes that inspire hope's sun

So you may think you got me to just lose
But you best check the clock for it shows time
And I can still adjust and adapt clues
That can affect this outcome with my skill's chime
All I strive for is to be some thunder
In this one moment of competition
With hopes to win and be a champ for sure
So know I adjust and adapt to sin
The paper may set your expectations
But the game is played for a reason
So know my best comes through both rains and suns
And I adjust and adapt to feared fun
I am not cocky but just confident
While willing to push my limits as well
To do whatever to feel triumph's scent
Cause I adjust and adapt to be swell
Experience and emotion does aid
My perspective that will flip this weak script
For I adjust and adapt to gloom's grade
So know a comeback is within my grip
Therefore, resume to bring your scheme of pain
Since I'll adjust and adapt as needed
Since I believe a loss is not a stain
Until the clock says I am defeated
I have a knack for not giving up in life at any moment
And like living, I adjust and adapt in sport with swift movement

It may be day forty-two in this cycle
Of shelter in place around my town's streets
But no barrier was broken so dull
Yet, dreams were dashed and got hopeful heartbeats
Yeah, the coronavirus claimed one more
Day of stillness in Earth's society
But like Jackie Robinson and his core
Of uniting hope, I brought now true glee
Being able to remotely inspire
A Zoom room full of differable souls
With a WONDER-like plot of living's fire
Combined with courage to slay doubt's burnt coals
On top of that, revamping my scribed path
To a publisher and share my writings
With the world made this day have no felt wrath
So yeah, this pandemic lacked my feared stings
Furthermore, today was a true mission
That was accomplished like curving the count
Of cases caused by this disease that is sin
But I don't care for my purposr did spout
So on day forty-two of this true funk
I so felt like a genuine hero
While receiving praise with more hopeful spunk
To possibly spread my life's worthy glow
Baseball may not be on today's schedule
Due to humanity needing to heal
Before any trace of normalcy's thrill
Yet, I felt a grand slam hit waz real
Thanks to Tahiya and Hope for bringing my simple footprint to life's timed forefront
At a time in which social distancing's mask and gloves has just drained living's fun stunt
Not sure where to start? Start here.
