Get Paid Hours for Training

This is not a promise or guarantee of hours or wages. The Learning Services Team is offering the information and tools for accessing learning during the shelter-at-home period, but managers and directors will determine the number of hours, individual eligibility, and any other decisions that affect your pay. 

College of Direct Support (CDS) — 
Hope University

IF YOU DON'T KNOW YOUR ID OR PASSWORD for Hope University:
  1. FIRST!  Try a search in  your e-mail for Diana Accacia and find the email message you were sent when you were hired that gave you that information

Hope University is an online option for learning many different topics related to our work. 
  1. The courses are web based presentations with some activities, mostly quizzes at the end. 
  2. Each course has an estimated time for completion and is worth that much time in terms of paid hours. You can't get paid four (4) hours for a course that is listed as one (1) hour long.
  3. You will need the flash player installed in your browser to access these classes. That is an older technology and many modern browsers, especially on the Apple OS, no longer support it. But if your computer is older you probably already have it on there.
  4. The courses are related to learning paths by the job you hold. This manual describes those paths. 
  5. You log in to the College of Direct Support — where the classes are stored — and enroll in a lesson. 
    1. Click this
    2. Login with your ID and password
    3. Click eLearning across the top 
    4. Choose Self-enrollment
    5. Look for the class you want to take
    6. Click enroll
    7. Click the course again in the dialog box that comes up
    8. Scroll down the box, click "Add Lessons"
    9. Scroll BACK UP the box, click "Close Window"
    10. Click eLearning across the top AGAIN
    11. Choose My eLearningLessons
    12. Click the TITLE of the course from the list
    13. Start the course
    14. Finish it
    15. The software will track your completions

Law Room

Law Room (by Everfi) is a more modern eLearning platform where managers can assign you courses to complete.

Login with the same ID you use for CDS. The password may be different.

Currently we do not have administrator privileges to assign anyone additional modules in Law Room, but as soon as we do we will alert you. In the meantime, if you do have training assigned in there, you should be able to go in and complete it from the list that appears when you get in.

Use the link to the zoom meeting or the phone number and meeting ID to access the webinar at the right time and day. If you are early or on the wrong day, you will be in a "waiting area" until the presenter comes in. That's it. Nothing fancy.
